Job Description:
The HSE Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing all aspects of health, safety, and environmental management within an organization. They develop, implement, and continuously improve HSE policies, programs, and initiatives to create a safe and healthy work environment, prevent accidents, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional certifications (e.g., CSP, CIH, CMIOSH) may be preferred.
- Proven experience in HSE management roles, with a track record of successfully leading HSE programs and initiatives in complex organizational settings.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations, standards, and guidelines.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Demonstrated project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage resources effectively, and drive results.
- Experience in incident investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective action management.

Policy Development and Implementation: Develop, implement, and communicate HSE policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure compliance with legal requirements, industry standards, and corporate objectives.
Risk Assessment and Management: Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and hazard analyses across all organizational activities, facilities, and projects. Develop strategies to mitigate risks and minimize the potential for accidents, injuries, and environmental incidents.
Regulatory Compliance: Stay abreast of relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations, codes, and standards applicable to the organization's operations. Ensure compliance with all legal requirements and industry best practices.
Safety Training and Education: Develop and deliver HSE training programs and initiatives for employees, contractors, and other stakeholders to raise awareness of safety practices, promote a culture of safety, and ensure competency in HSE-related tasks.
Incident Management and Investigation: Establish procedures for reporting, investigating, and documenting incidents, accidents, near misses, and environmental incidents. Lead or support investigations to identify root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Emergency Preparedness and Response: Develop and maintain emergency response plans, procedures, and protocols to address potential workplace emergencies, including fires, chemical spills, natural disasters, and medical emergencies. Conduct regular drills and exercises to test emergency preparedness.
Audits and Inspections: Conduct regular HSE audits, inspections, and reviews to assess compliance with policies, identify areas for improvement, and ensure that corrective actions are implemented in a timely manner.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure HSE performance. Monitor and analyze HSE data to identify trends, assess performance, and make data-driven decisions to improve HSE outcomes.
Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal stakeholders, external partners, regulatory agencies, and community groups to promote HSE objectives, address concerns, and build positive relationships.
Continuous Improvement: Drive a culture of continuous improvement in HSE performance by leading initiatives to identify opportunities for enhancement, implementing best practices, and fostering innovation.
